Mac Chili Lip Liner

This is MAC Chili (matte), from the regular range, no LE. It’s red with hints of a muted orange. There is no shimmer and the color is opaque in one swipe. The finish is matte, but for MAC that’s a very creamy matte, very comfortable to wear. I prefer using it with lip liner as that makes it last better. A lip liner designed for shaping, lining or filling in the lip. Our Lip Pencils have a smooth, creamy texture that is perfect for outlining lips or colouring them in. Available in a wide selection of colours that each work well with many different lipstick shades. Mac lipstick is so great when it comes to making universal flattering shades for everyone. I love lady danger but at times it just pulls to much orange the true warmth in this color is what I appreciate the most in it. Definitely a goto spicy color all can enjoy.yet another hit for mac (.

What’s an unsung makeup hero? For me, it’s an oftentimes underrated makeup morsel, a permanent collection product that scoots under the radar screen of many makeup lovers but regularly rocks my world. The long-running Unsung Heroes series features some of my favorites.

Mac

So, I was making homemade taco seasoning a few nights ago, and the color of the chili powder reminded me of one of my favorite MAC lipsticks.

Liner

Smooth, long-lasting MAC Chili is a warm orange-reddish brown beauty in the MAC Matte Lipstick line. You can wear it all year round (’cause red is timeless like that!), but I think it looks particularly great this time of year with toasty tans.

Chili perfectly pairs with summery bronze, copper and gold shadows. A few of my favorite eyeshadows to wear it with are MAC Bronze, Antiqued and Mulch, but Amber Lights looks fab with it, too.

I also like it with the NARS Isolde Duo (Tip: Mix both shades together and buff all over lids, and then do MAC Teddy liner on the waterlines… It’s FIRE.) and NUDESTIX Rustique.

As for blushes to rock with it, try MAC Sunbasque, Coppertone or Gingerly.

I hope he was talking about the Chili lipstick from Mac Cosmetics because that is what lifts my spirits! This orangey red lipstick needs no introduction. In caught my eye at the store and I could not resist myself from trying it since I am in a red phase leaving my usual pinks and browns behind. Also I found it is hard to find good reviews of Chili in our Indian beauty blogging community so I was a bit confused initially but bought it after trying it at the store. As you can guess from my previous reviews, I love pink lipsticks to the core but after buying Ruby Woo I’ve changed completely and now its my mission to buy all the red shades Mac has to offer! But today I am going to share my review and swatches on this orange red lipstick which is often ignored by many.

Mac Claims: Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M.A.C famous.

Mac Chili is not your usual red, it is a lovely matte red with orange tones which would suit most of the Indian skin tones. This red is actually a safe red if you are just venturing into red lipsticks and don’t want a full on red like Russian Red. Also I have noticed that this red shade makes my teeth look whiter than usual! It gives opaque coverage in 1-2 swipes, but I personally feel that if you apply the lipstick with lip brush instead of directly from tube then it will give a more intense look.

The lipstick stays pretty for 6 hours and after that it fades leaving a lovely tint on lips but I prefer re-application after heavy meal. The lipstick transfers a bit which can be ignored. Although its matte, its smooth in texture and glides smoothly on my dry lips. And comes with the famous vanilla fragnance that always give me the feeling of wearing something yummy evertime I apply a MAC lipstick.

The lipstick comes in usual black case packaging and is under the permanent line of matte range.

So let’s summarize the whole review for those who are always in a hurry and start reading from pros and cons only!

My Rating: 4.5/5

Conclusion: Mac Chili lipstick is a pretty orange red which you can carry if you are shy of full blown reds. It would suit all Indian skin tones. The texture is matte but its smooth and glides on easily without drying my lips. Over all I will just say – I don’t love chili in my food but love to have it on my lips!
